It’s generally believed that Prince William met Kate Middleton in 2001 when they were both students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. By 2003, they were a couple. after a brief split in 2007, they got back together. They announced their engagement in 2010 and got married the following year. They welcomed prince George in 2013 and princess Charlotte in 2015, and a 3rd child, Prince Louis, who arrived in April 2018. the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton combined centuries of royal tradition with 21st– century innovations. William was the first direct heir to the throne to marry a bride from a middle-class background since the future King James VII and II married Anne Hyde in 1660. In distinction to previous royal couples, who had experienced comparatively brief courtships and engagements, William and Catherine had met in university and been in a relationship for years before announcing their engagement. Catherine had gradually become familiar to the general public as William’s girlfriend – though William never created a public statement to that effect, in the same manner as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

At 13, Princess Elizabeth had a notable meeting with Prince Philip (then 18) on a tour of the Royal naval college where the young prince was a naval cadet. The wedding of Princess Elizabeth (the future Queen Elizabeth II) to Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten, RN (born Prince Philip of Greece) balanced royal ceremonial with postwar austerity. The ceremony took place at Westminster Abbey, which had been revived as a popular setting for royal weddings after the first world war. The couple posed for official engagement photos that displayed Elizabeth’s engagement ring, which was designed by Philip with jewels that had belonged to his mother, Alice of Battenberg. With this engagement ring, Philip set a precedent that would be followed by his grandson, Prince Harry, who would design a ring for his fiancé Meghan Markle including diamonds that belonged to his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. Following that encounter in 1939, the two began exchanging letters throughout all of world war II and fell in love. Their engagement was formally announced in 1947, and they were married that same year. they have four kids.
